Location: 15km south of Forres, in Moray
Site status: Consent Application Submitted
Planned capacity: up to 225 MW, capable of powering up to 144,942 homes*
Number of turbines: 48
The Clash Gour Wind Farm has been developed by Force 9 Energy working in partnership with EDF Renewables via a Joint Development Agreement. Force 9 Energy is an independent, UK based renewable energy developer. If the Clash Gour project is consented, EDF Renewables would build, own and operate the wind farm.
Next steps: Because the proposed development will be over 50MW, the wind farm is classed as a Section 36 scheme and requires the submission of an application to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit (ECU).
The application was lodged with the ECU in December 2018 and the Environmental Impact Assessment Report submitted as part of the planning application is available to download from http://www.force9energy.com/projects/current/clash-gour and www.energyconsents.scot.
A hard copy of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report can also be viewed at:
Forres Library, Grantown Library, Moray Council, Edinkillie Hall, Houldsworth Institute, Knockando Hall
Any representations to the application may be submitted via the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit.

*Please note that this figure is based on 48 turbines with a rated capacity of 3.3MW and 6MW operating at site derived capacity factors of between 35.3% and 39.5% and assuming 3,781 is the average UK household electricity consumption in kW hours (based most recent statistics from the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)).
