We’re delighted our Head of External Affairs, Lindsey Southworth, has been nominated to join the board of Scottish Renewables. Here’s why she’s a great candidate…
I’m a passionate advocate for the renewables industry in Scotland, where I’ve worked in the energy sector for 10 years and have witnessed and played an integral part of its incredible growth story.
I firmly believe we, in Scotland, are leading the way in terms of what we have achieved so far for onshore wind and are moving into an exciting future for offshore wind, solar, storage and hydrogen… but there is more to be done. Having worked closely with the team at Scottish Renewables for several years, I see the influential work the organisation does, and the impact it has, as being critical to that future.
Every day I’m working amongst all renewable technologies in my role as Head of External Affairs at EDF Renewables, across the UK and Ireland, which gives me a unique perspective. Working for a global company allows me to learn and use best practice from other parts of the world I can bring to Scotland.
As a former journalist and media trainer who has worked around the globe, I am able to advise and influence executive teams and senior stakeholders, providing the right framework to shape our company and industry’s reputation and manage challenges while meeting our obligations. I would welcome the opportunity to apply these skills at Scottish Renewables.
I love this industry. I’m a tenacious and hard-working person with a can-do attitude. I would bring a fresh, realistic dynamic to the board. I am confident I can make a worthwhile contribution.
