A number of trails criss-cross the breath taking scenery around Dorenell. The trails are open all year round, but – as always – it’s advisable to check weather forecasts and dress appropriately before setting off. On the trail, we support the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. Please take care when walking, take your litter away with you, keep dogs under control, and never disturb wildlife.

Steplar Trail

Cabrach to Glenlivet – 15.2km

Start from the Steplar Trailhead car park to follow well defined tracks that include moderate climbs. This route requires you to ford a river, so take into account the weather and time of year when planning this route, as it could be inaccessible. There is a bridge 2km downstream and this detour would add significant time to your journey.
