The EDF Renewables wind farm at Dorenell is a stunning place to visit. For walkers, the Glenfiddich and Steplar Trails have their own dedicated car parks. Our Visitor Centre has lots of information about the trails, the site and local wildlife – including some protected species. An accessible public toilet is open 24/7.

Accessibility:

The Dorenell Visitor Centre and toilet are fully accessible with a disabled parking bay and ramps leading up to the Visitor Centre and toilet. A winding path on a slight incline leads from the parking bay to the Centre. Download our Accessibility Guide.

Walking trails

A number of trails criss-cross the breath taking scenery around Dorenell. The trails are open all year round, but – as always – it’s advisable to check weather forecasts and dress appropriately before setting off. On the trail, we support the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. Please take care when walking, take your litter away with you, keep dogs under control, and never disturb wildlife.

Guided walks

From school outings to wildlife watching, our guided walks are a great way to get to know more about Dorenell’s landscape and history. Join one of our scheduled walks or talk to us if you have an idea for a group event.
